ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP

The mission

The Motion Design Intern at SA Media works directly with the creative team to produce animated visual content for live client campaigns. You will be creating motion graphics, brand animations, and dynamic social content that reaches real audiences from your first week in the role.

Your success will be measured by the quality of your motion output, your ability to translate a creative brief into animated work that serves the brand, and your responsiveness to feedback from the creative director. This is a role for a student who has genuine technical proficiency in motion design, a strong sense of visual timing, and the creative maturity to bring brand stories to life with precision and intention.

WHAT YOU GET

What this internship actually gives you

Published Motion Work

Your animations appear on live client campaigns with real audiences. Not student showreels padded with hypothetical briefs.

Receive direct feedback from experienced creative directors on your animation decisions, timing, and visual storytelling.

Brand Motion Experience

Work across logo animation, social content, campaign assets, and brand presentations to build genuine range in your portfolio.

AI-Enhanced Workflow

Learn how to integrate AI-powered creative tools into your motion design process to improve speed, iteration, and creative exploration.

Flexible Remote Work

Work remotely on a schedule designed to fit around your academic commitments at a minimum of 16 hours per week.

Conversion Potential

Strong performers are considered for extended contracts and full-time creative roles. Your internship is an extended audition.

THE ROLE

What you will do

01

Create motion graphics and animated visual content for live client campaigns across social media, digital advertising, website headers, and brand presentations.

02

Design and animate short-form content including animated social posts, kinetic typography sequences, logo reveals, and brand stings for use across client channels.

03

Work from creative briefs and brand guidelines to produce motion content that is on-brand, on-strategy, and platform-ready across all required formats.

04

Collaborate with the graphic design and video editing teams to integrate motion elements into broader creative productions including reels, brand films, and campaign assets.

05

Build reusable motion templates, animated lower thirds, graphic packages, and intro and outro sequences that improve the efficiency of repeat content production.

06

Receive feedback from the creative director during review sessions and iterate on animations efficiently until they meet the required standard.

07

Maintain organised project files, source files, and exported assets so the team can access, review, and update work at any stage of the production process.

08

Research motion design trends, animation styles, and visual language conventions across relevant industries to keep SA Media creative output distinctive and current.

09

Assist with the application of brand motion systems to new formats and use cases as SA Media client accounts evolve and expand.

10

Contribute to SA Media owned content by creating animated visuals for the firm's own social channels and marketing materials.
