ABOUT THE ROLE
The mission
The AI Engineer at SA Media is responsible for designing and building the AI systems that power client results and internal operations. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on production output, not research. You will be building agents, integrations, and intelligent workflows that go live and deliver measurable value.
Your success will be measured by the quality, reliability, and commercial impact of what you build. This is a role for someone who is technically sharp, deeply curious about applied AI, and energised by the challenge of translating cutting-edge capabilities into real-world solutions for clients across global markets.

THE ROLE
Key responsibilities
Design, build, and deploy AI agents and LLM-powered applications that solve real business problems for SA Media clients across diverse industries and global markets.
Develop and maintain integrations between large language models and client systems including CRMs, databases, APIs, and third-party platforms.
Build and optimise retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines, embedding workflows, and semantic search systems that improve the quality and relevance of AI outputs.
Collaborate with the strategy and account teams to translate client goals into AI-driven solutions, ensuring every build is scoped, deliverable, and commercially meaningful.
Evaluate, test, and fine-tune models and prompts to improve accuracy, reliability, and performance across production environments.
Monitor and maintain deployed AI systems, identifying failure points, improving resilience, and iterating based on real-world usage and client feedback.
Research and assess emerging AI tools, frameworks, and model releases to identify where SA Media can gain a competitive edge for clients.
Document architectures, workflows, and integration patterns clearly so the wider team can understand, maintain, and build on your work.
Contribute to internal AI tooling that improves team productivity, automates repetitive processes, and raises the overall quality of SA Media deliverables.
Work directly with SA Media leadership on scoping and shaping the AI strategy for new client engagements and internal product initiatives.

Experience building RAG systems using vector databases such as Pinecone, Weaviate, or pgvector
Strong understanding of prompt engineering, chain-of-thought reasoning, and structured output techniques
Comfortable working with REST APIs, webhooks, and third-party integrations at a production level

FAQ
Your questions, answered
Is this role fully remote?
Yes. This is a fully remote position open to candidates globally. You will need to be available during core collaboration hours and produce consistent, high-quality output on an ongoing basis.
What does the compensation look like?
Compensation is competitive with a strong base and performance incentives tied to the quality and impact of your work. We pay for results and reward engineers who ship things that matter.
What kinds of AI projects will I work on?
You will build AI agents, LLM integrations, RAG pipelines, and intelligent workflow systems for SA Media clients across real estate, fintech, hospitality, luxury, and professional services. You will also contribute to internal tooling that improves the firm as a whole.
Do I need experience with a specific model or framework?
We work across multiple providers including OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google depending on the use case. What matters most is your ability to work across the AI stack and learn quickly as the landscape evolves. Strong fundamentals matter more than loyalty to one tool.
Will I be working alone or with a team?
You will work closely with the wider engineering, strategy, and account teams. You will collaborate on scoping, review sessions, and delivery handoffs. Independence is expected but you are never working in isolation.
How quickly does SA Media move?
Fast. We do not have unnecessary approval layers or bureaucratic delays. If you identify a better approach or a new tool worth adopting, you raise it and we act on it. Engineers with strong opinions and clear reasoning gain influence quickly.
Will I have direct access to the founder and leadership?
Yes. SA Media is a firm where leadership is accessible and technically engaged. You will work closely with Saim Abbasi and the senior team on scoping and strategic direction. There are no unnecessary layers between you and the people making decisions.
What is the culture like?
Results-driven but genuinely supportive. We care deeply about what gets shipped, not optics or performative activity. There is no micromanagement, no politics, and no tolerance for mediocrity. We hire adults, treat them as such, and hold everyone to the same high standard.
Is there a path to grow beyond this role?
Absolutely. SA Media is an active portfolio of ventures, media assets, and client engagements. Strong engineers gain exposure to technical leadership, product strategy, and opportunities that extend well beyond a standard engineering role.
